18 am - pm NB: A sign-in book will be available for early birds to sign-in on Fri.There is no exact science to vintage drums and many cases there are just a lot of inconsistent facts that make it difficult to get to the exact year.So please be happy with a range of dates based on many of the common characteristics of certain eras.Hi a couple of months ago I bought a yamaha 9000 Cherrywood the bass drum and toms are made in England and the two floor toms are made in Japan, I have seen threads about this topic before on here and they were very helpful. 8" model: TT908RC serial: IY-0270 10" model : TT910RF serial: IY-0323 12" model : TT912RF serial: IY-0357 14" model : TT914RF serial: JP-4290 15" model : TT915RA serial: km 20" model : BD902RF serial: JK0466 . I seen it for sale twice in my area in the last few years but my guess is that it was bought from a large shell bank of RC's at some point, I've falling in love with this kit and would like to Know the age of it . If you email Yamaha they can provide you all that information.Yamaha made drums in England from 1987-1991 I think, and the serial numbers don't seem to tally with those years were the codes different for England. So I can see that in the model number for the 8" tom that TT= tom tom, 9= 9000 series and 08= the size of the drum RC= recording custom. The floor toms JP AND km say that it's 1983 august and 1984 June. The others give me 1982 november and the bassdrum 1983 april. I usually use a five piece but it's great to have the selection. I've done it with my yamaha kit and they were great about providing info. Cheers dude, I only have the 8 and 15 to hand at the moment and there not that much under sized especially the 15 the 8 maybe a little more but not much.
